Welcome to the Babawola user guide, your companion for consulting the traditional Ifá oracle.
Babawola is a modern application that allows you to access the ancient wisdom of Ifá in a respectful and traceable way.

1. Select a category
Choose the area of your question: spiritual, work, health, love, family, travel, studies, investment, justice, entrepreneurship, protection or partnership.
2. Ask your question
Formulate your question clearly in the field provided.Be specific and respectful.
3. Throw away the cowrie shells
Click 'Discard Cowries' to get your 16 marks.You can also select them manually.
4. Consult the oracle
Click on 'Consult the Oracle' to receive your answer with the verses (Esè), recommended and prohibited actions.

Marks (8 bits)
The 8 cowries can fall open (0) or closed (1). The sequence of 8 determines the Odù (256 possibilities).

Canonical 8 bits
The system uses these 8 bits to identify the Odù among the 256 possible (it may expand them to 16 bits internally for lookup).
